"maybethisyear" has the best album cover art, hands down. When I saw Robin's cover, I was ashamed and hid.
that's only b/c i didn't have to draw anything. you'd kick my butt if that were the case.
This CD has been in heavy rotation in our car the last few days. I really like The Weepies song (though I really don't like their other music), Scott Parsons, Hellogoodbye, and as I mentioned the other day, the Kate Bush song. Your is well thought out and expertly executed in every way.
Thanks again for your addition.
scott is a friend who lives in columbus. he let me use his music for comic sans. you can download a ton of his stuff for free here, if you're interested. http://www.scottparsons.biz/
"The Magic Position": Patrick Wolf - Nice, major chord, Phil Spectorish groove.
"Tune Out" - The Format: A laidback Crosby, Stills, and Nash vibe on this one (play it alongside "Our House" to see what I mean).
"Shiney Bruise" - The Damnwells: I like the sound of this. They don't really sound like anyone else. Kind of a cross between Tom Waits and The Waterboys.
"Cathedrals" - Jump Little Children: Maybe my favorite song on the album. Just a gorgeous, beautiful tune.
"This Woman's Work" - Kate Bush: I've always liked this song. There's lots more good stuff from Kate where this came from.
"Look At Miss Ohio" - Gillian Welch: I'm diggin' the country sound here. Courtney Love should record an album like this.
"Tonight Will Be Fine" - Teddy Thompson: Sounds way too much like Jackson Browne for my tastes.
"Baby, It's Fact" - Hellogoodbye: Pure pop bliss.
